We’ve now recovered from a great night with Stephen Terry and Paolo di Marchi of Isola and Olena wines last Thursday. A full house, formidable menu and memorable wines. Thanks to all our customers for supporting. Stephen will be returning to Aberaeron on July 5th for the annual fish festival challenge.

A date for your diary: July 5th and the annual Cardigan Bay Seafood Festival. The best chefs in Wales will again be cooking great seafood dishes. This year has probably the best line-up ever. We have four Michelin starred chefs and others who are at the forefront of their trade. All this takes place on the quay in front of the Harbourmaster. More information at

At last the boats get craned back in the harbour. For us it’s a sign that summer is around the corner. Hours of fun watching the crane doing its work with the nervous boat owners looking on. Best observed from your room or from the bar as agitated owners are known to use language that should only be used after the watershed!

So winter is coming to an end and so is our monthly wine tastings. In tonight’s finale Brian Howells will show examples of red and white Grenache from South of France, Spain and Australia. Sold out as usual – and the last one till September.
